With just 14 bedrooms, we’re able to maintain high staffing levels, which means we can spend more quality time with every resident. Being a smaller care home allows us to be truly responsive to people’s needs and preferences – providing genuinely individualised support. It also means we have the time to spend getting to know our residents and building firm friendships.

The Little Oaks team is focussed on ensuring that every resident has ample opportunity to live their life to the fullest. We encourage all of our residents to be actively involved in their own care plan, activities and meals, ensuring that everyone is supported to enjoy life at Little Oaks.

Our care assistants undergo extensive training when they join the Little Oaks team. Our mandatory face to face training, e-learning and comprehensive induction is complemented by shadow shifts. This approach ensures that all of our team have an understanding of the principles of good care, as well as getting to know the needs and preferences of our residents. All care shifts are led by Senior Carers, who are qualified at level 3 QCF in health and social care, ensuring the best possible care at all times.

We may be a small care home, but we’ve got a big focus on quality care. Everything we do here is done to the very best of our ability. As well as comprehensive training for new starters, we actively encourage all of our staff to work towards their NVQ. Mandatory training courses are refreshed every year and our senior care staff provide regular training courses to update and refresh skills, as well as sharing best practice.
