Little Oaks Care Home

Life At Little Oaks

With just 14 bedrooms, we’re able to maintain high staffing levels, which means we can
spend more quality time with every resident.

Why Little Oaks is The Best Choice

Little Oaks, we’re proud of being a small residential care home. Being small means that everyone is surrounded by familiar faces and that staff are able to spend quality time with residents. The result is that we all get to know each other very well. It also means that we can shape every aspect of what we do to suit the needs, likes, dislikes and personalities of the people who choose to live at Little Oaks.
We Provide Care

Care You Can Trust

A family run care home with a longstanding staffing team, with a focus on providing unrivalled care in our local village.

Keeping active is crucial to health and wellbeing for all of us. Our deputy manager provides a rich variety of different activities to keep people active in mind and body. She works closely with our residents to ensure that the activities on offer are things that they will enjoy, from small group activities such as cooking, bingo, gardening or arts and crafts, to helping residents pursue personal goals and hobbies from the comfort of their own room. We also regularly organise trips, which include anything from visiting the local shops or park, to a day out at the seaside.

We believe that life should be filled with joy and happiness, and we do everything we can to make sure that special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas should be celebrated. When possible, we invite locals from the surrounding village of Little Braxted to join us for Christmas parties, summer BBQs and other seasonal events. We also invite local musicians and magicians into the home to put on a spot of entertainment for all to enjoy.

We believe in encouraging independence and empowering people to maintain their skills and abilities. Doing so is great for mental health and can give people a real boost in self esteem and confidence. Sometimes, this can include simple things such as making their own cup of tea, tending to plants around the home or helping with household chores. For others, our regular visits from hairdressers and chiropodists can help to ensure that people feel at their best, maintain dignity and promote a sense of pride

Food should be something to enjoy, one of life’s pleasures. By using high-quality, nutritious ingredients, our chefs create meals that are appealing to the eyes as well as the taste buds, while also being tailored to the dietary needs of our residents. We work with our residents to make sure they have their say when it comes to the dishes we put on the menu, ensuring that there is always something on offer that will take their fancy.

For us, mealtimes are a time to socialise and share a story and a smile over a meal. However, we fully respect the wishes of every resident and are happy to serve meals wherever they feel most comfortable. We also ensure that there is a choice of snacks and light meals available at all times, for those who fancy a bite to eat between meals.

Our trained team understands the importance of eating well, which is why we carefully monitor any changes to eating habits to ensure that we can react swiftly if a resident is feeling unwell or not getting adequate food and hydration.
